9 Months old

Dear Sophia,

My sweet darling, you are 9 months old today. My how the time flies love bug. You are reaching an age where you are becoming so much fun. You are trying to crawl. Well let me rephrase that, you get in a crawl position and that's about it, you haven't been brave enough to move your little hands and knees!
You are starting to want to "walk". You grab on to our fingers, pull yourself up and take off "walking". It's so cute, it looks like you are doing some sort of high-step march. Gosh I can't believe how big you are getting.

9 things I'm loving about you this minute:

1. Your hair- it is getting long enough to put up in pigtails and ponys. I love it! I love it even more in the morning when you have crazy bedhead hair. It's the best :)

2. You give kisses- the wetter the better! I love your sweet little open mouth kisses. I love that you are able to show affection back. It makes my heart melt.

3. Your teeth- you only have two teeth on the bottom, but they make you look like such a big girl. I think you will be getting some top teeth soon though!

4. Your love for books- you are your mother's daughter and how proud I am! You are following nicely in my footsteps sweet pea. We read books together throughout the day. Your favortite right now is 10 little ladybugs, we read it many many times a day!

5. How much you love food- you haven't met a food you didn't like. You eat basically everything we eat, we keep it as healthy as we can. Mostly, breads, fruits, veggies, some meats, beans, etc. You LOVE rice and beans, tortillas too! Your favorite foods lately have been yogurt, avocado, any type of beans, and toast. You tried hummus the other day and loved it! Such a big girl.

Sharing whole wheat spaghetti and turkey meatballs with mommy
6. How much you love people- especially kids, anytime we see a baby or a kid when we are out and about in the stores or at the park, you just giggle and laugh. It's so funny to watch. People come up to us all the time and tell me how beautiful you are, you just smile.
Laughing at another baby swinging next to you
7. How much you love your daddy- it is my absolute favorite part of our day when your daddy walks through that front door and you see him. You light up, smile, giggle, laugh. You can't wait to be in his arms. I think you will be quite the daddy's girl
This was right when daddy got home from work the other day
8. How happy you are- you are always smiling (well 95% of the time anyways).

9. That you are my daughter- I am beyond blessed. I don't have the words to describe how lucky I am. Thank you for making me happy every single day. I love you more than you will ever know.

With unconditional love,
your mommy

Long overdue post

It's been awhile since my last blog post, but it has been pretty crazy around here. My mom was in town for the past 10 days and we were on the go quite a bit. We had a really nice visit, I wish she could come down more often. Sophia really enjoyed her being here. Sophia and I are home alone together most of the time during the week so I'm sure seeing a new face was great for her. We picked her up from the airport on Thursday afternoon.

My mom was really excited to see all of us (especially Sophia!), Sophia didn't know what to think at first but she warmed up pretty quickly. My mom sat in the backseat with Sophia the whole time she was here. They were backseat buddies :) She loved the company back there!

We did soooooo much when my mom was here! We went to the Fort Worth Stock Show, went to a baby shower, made a ton of decorations for Sophia's 1st birthday party, practiced making cupcakes for the party, cooked, and did tons of shopping! We were busy busy busy. Now that my mom is gone it's so lonely around here :( But only 3 more months until she is back again for Sophia's birthday! Here is Nana's visit in pictures...

I'm getting excited about planning Sophia's 1st birthday party but a little sad at the same time. I can't believe my little baby will be 1 in a few short months :( It has literally flown by. It's going to be here before I know it so I may as well embrace it right? We are throwing her a Spring Garden Party themed birthday party. I'm trying to make all the decorations and have acomplished quite a bit so far. I'll update as the party approaches! Now off to get ready to hit up Costco, oh joy :)

Our favorite time of the day...

Bath time!! I know I've made a couple of bath time posts before, but I just can't help myself. Sophia has too much fun playing in the water and with all of her bath tub toys, and I have so much fun watching her. She gets so excited when I start the bath water and get her undressed. She knows whats coming! She starts jumping and bouncing around, I love it. She talks, laughs, and squeals the whole time! She never wants to get out :) It is definetely something we both look forward to every night.

She loves the little turtle for some reason!

Trying to pull her foot up to her mouth :)

and the best for last...so sweet. I love her eyelashes.

A day at the park

The last few days it has been so nice out, upper 50's lower 60's. Tomorrow is calling for snow, gotta love Texas weather. So while the weather is been nice Sophia and I try to get out as much as possible. We walked down to the park the other day. It was so much fun. I'm ready for spring to get here so we can go on a daily basis. I packed some snacks and a blanket and we headed out.

 Soaking up the sun

 Enjoying some snacks :)

We sat and watched the other kids playing at the park for awhile, ate our snacks, and I got some practicing in with my camera. I still have pretty much no idea what I am doing, but I am reading a 12 week to better photos course on 2 peas website. I'm understanding my camera a lot better now. I can't wait until I actually know what I am doing, seems like light years away :)

Anywho, after all of that fun we wandered over to the swings for a little playtime. Sophia loved it! She smiled, laughed and squealed the whole time. She is such a silly girl, she makes me smile constantly, I seriously can't get enough of her!

Maybe soon we will have snow day pics :) We shall see!!

Spaghetti!

We have been feeding Sophia table food for a couple of weeks now so she eats what we eat most of the time. A couple of nights ago I made spaghetti...Sophia fed herself  :)

You can see she was starting to get tired by the end. Her poor highchair will never look the same.
