One year ago today

Our lives changed forever and we found out we were going to be parents. One of the happiest and scariest moments of my life. Becoming a mom has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. My life is completely different than it was a year ago, and I love it.

  • We can no longer get up and go when we want. It takes at least a half hour and a small army to load up all of her "stuff"
  • 7 am is considered sleeping in
  • It's nothing out of the ordinary to talk about her poop (color, amount, frequency...you name it!) and get excited when it actually happens
  • I go out in public with spit up on my clothes...and I don't mind
  • A 15 minute shower is a luxury
  • I usually never finish a cup of coffee without having to reheat it...at least twice
I finally understand what "a mother's love means". It means that I now know what it's like to worry, to truly worry. I understand what it feels like to want to protect your child with everything you have. And how it feels when you see your child sick or hurting and want so bad that it be you instead. My heart now walks around on the outside of my body, her name is Sophia.

What a difference a year makes huh?

4 Months Old!

I can't believe my little girl is 4 months old already. It seems like yesterday I was holding her in the hospital...we've come a long way since then.

Sophia,

Happy 4 months love bug! You are my sweet sweet girl and I love you so so much. I am so proud of you for everything you have accomplished in your short 4 months of life. So far you have discovered your hands, they are your favorite things to chew on, mommy's hand is a close second though.

You can roll all the way over on your tummy, but you haven't quite got the hang of rolling back over yet :) We have to help you out sometimes, that's ok though, you'll get it. 9 mornings out of 10 we find you on your tummy, sideways, and feet through the crib slats. You must be having a party in there when mommy and daddy aren't looking :)

Daddy says you have the prettiest smile in the world, he's so right. You make every morning a happy one (even if it's 5 o'clock in the morning), greeting us with your toothless grin. I couldn't ask for anything better.

You are pretty darn good at tummy time now, you push yourself up and lift your head so high! You love your new view of the world. I'm quite certain you will be crawling around the house sooner than later. Yikes! I don't think we are prepared for that yet! Don't grow up too fast punkin', mommy needs you to stay her little baby forever...I love you more than you will ever know!

Sophia's Baptism

Saturday was Sophia's baptism and it went very well, a lot better than I thought it would seeing as it was during her bedtime. She fell asleep during mass and was out for some of the actual baptism ceremony.

She woke up halfway through it to the priest talking, when she woke up she looked at him like "Who are you and where am I?" The look on her face was priceless. She did good though, she didn't even cry when they poured the water over her head. She actually probably thought it felt good, it was so hot in the church. The poor little girl was sweating so bad! The long dress, shoes and socks probably didn't help much either.

After the ceremony we took pictures and headed to my in-law's house for a baptism party for our girl.

Let the good times roll

"Come here baby, closer still. Lie down with me, may this night never end. Tell me you want me, then tell me more. Take me farther then you ever did before cause I, I need you and I aim to please you. I want to sweep you off your feet and I want you to fall for me. I need your body like I need your soul, so come on baby, let the good times roll..."
Those are the words we danced to on that beautiful blessed day...

2 years ago today Rudy and I said our wedding vows and he made me the happiest woman alive. I seriously can't believe it's been 2 years, the time has literallly flown by. Our wedding was amazing and it was exactly how I pictured my wedding would be, only better. The anticipation building up to it was amazing. I got up that morning, went to the hair salon with my mom and bridesmaids just like I always imagined doing. We talked and laughed and took pictures...I remember being so anxious. After my hair was done, I rushed off to get my makeup done professionally, I wanted everything to be just perfect.

Laid back weekend

Rudy had to work this weekend so Sophia and I stayed home together most of the time. She learned a new trick, she can now roll over from her belly to her back and roll from side to side. She looks like a little rolley polley bug, it's the cutest thing. She did it twice and of course when I got the camera out so I could film it for Rudy, she wouldn't roll over. Maybe she'll do it again and I'll catch it on camera...I'll post it if I do.
Our weekend was pretty uneventful but here are a few of my favorite pics from this weekend...

Her newest headband, we had to try it out ;)

Her favorite time of the day

And my absolute favorite of the weekend...she was so happy when her daddy came home from work. (Shortly after I took this picture she spit up all over him, it was pretty comical)

This little girl rocks my world...

Hello

So I'm new to the blogging world but I wanted to make a blog to document every precious moment in our life now that we have become parents. Sophia is constantly learning and doing new things everyday and I wanted a way to preserve every memory! So here we are!

Here are some of Sophia's newborn pictures...4 days old, brand spankin' new!

Sophia turned 3 months old on last Friday. Where does the time go?!

I can't believe it's been three whole months since this little angel graced us with her presence. Motherhood has been the hardest yet most rewarding thing I have ever done in my life. I love what each new day brings, new challenges and new rewards. I was definetely born to be a mom, it's the best job in the world!
