Catching up

Wow I can't believe how long it's been since I last posted. Toddlerhood definetely keeps me busy! Sophia is pretty much walking all over the place now, it didn't take her very long to get the hang of it! So proud of my big girl :) She is also getting three new teeth, I thought she was going to get the top 2 a long time ago but they are just now cutting through the gum. And she is working on a molar. Poor girl. She is already such a picky eater but now that she is getting these teeth, she doesn't want to eat anything these days, makes me more of a worry wart than I already am! She still hasn't really said too many words yet, but she babbles all day long. She repeats a lot of things we ask her to say, "Yee haw" being one of the cutest. It really is adorable. She knows what a sheep says and the girl definetely knows where her belly button is. We have been working on body parts and she has that one down pat lol! Her finger is in her belly button 75% of the day. Crazy kid.

The last few weekends have been pretty fun. Last weekend we went over to the in-laws for my mother in-laws birthday. One of their goats had two babies, but the mom died so now they have to bottle feed them. They are so cute, Sophia got a chance to feed them :) She loved them of course.

Then last Wednesday, my sister and I took Sophia to the zoo. She had a blast as usual. Next year, I am for sure going to invest in season passes.

This past weekend was Memorial Day weekend and we took Sophia over to Aunt Gina's house to go swimming. We brought her in the pool last summer but she was really little and hated it. This time was completely different. She even had her own float, she loved it!

All in all it was a great holiday weekend :) I can't wait for more pool time this summer!

We have a walker!!

I can't believe it. Sophia has been standing on her own for a few weeks no but hasn't had the courage to take a step. Well on Monday, she took one step. Tuesday, she took a few steps, Wednesday, a few more, and yesterday we were up to 10 steps!! I love her wobbily, drunken walk. It is too cute for words, I can't help but giggle every single time she does it. I"ve never been a more proud mama :)

Mother's Day

Yesterday was so much fun. We woke up early and Rudy went and got us donuts and kalaches for breakfast. Rudy got me the sweetest card from Sophia and a gift certificate for an hour long massage. I cannot wait to use it!!

Rudy's mom called yesterday morning and told us that she was taking our nephew and one of Sophia's cousins to the zoo and asked if we would like to go. I have been wanting to take Sophia back to the zoo and thought it would be fun! Plus Rudy has been wanting to go to the zoo with us too so it was perfect day to go since he was off work.

We woke Sophia up early from her morning nap so we could get there early before it got too hot and crowded. We packed everything up and headed out! She was in such a good, happy mood. It turned out to be a wonderful day.

After the zoo, we went to Rudy's parent's house and laid Sophia down for a nap while we cooked out. It was a good day, I just wish I would have been able to spend some of the day with my own mom, it's hard on all of us that she lives so far away. But hopefully she'll be back soon to visit!

Here are some pictures from our day

The flamingos were her favorite. She was so excited when she saw them!

I hope all you mamas out there had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Sophia's 1st birthday!!

Sophia's birthday was this past Saturday and we had her party on that day as well. It was a lot of work building up to it and I was exhausted afterwards but it was all worth it because Sophia was so happy smiled the whole day. I was worried about how she would be because she only took one nap in the morning around 9 am, but she did great, she stayed up until almost 8 pm! I knew she was getting tired towards the end, so I gave her a bath and tucked my one year old in to bed. I still can't believe I have a toddler...it's crazy how the time flies.

Anyway, here are some pics from her party. I think everything turned out great!
