A little late but...Sophia is 18 months!

I cannot believe my precious baby girl is 1.5 years old. The time has flown by! I have to say, 18 months is my absolute favorite age by far. Sophia's understands everything we say and has started really talking. She has quite the personality too. She is so funny and makes me laugh on a daily basis. Just over the last month is when she really started talking, she repeats everything we say. She is even speaking spanish, I'm so proud of her!

She is such a good girl. I hear people talking about their toddlers throwing tantrums and such and I have yet to see a real tantrum. Don't get me wrong, she definetely gets upset over things, but it doesn't happen that often. And when it does, you can talk and reason with her and she calms down pretty quick. Today for example, we were going to do a craft project and when I was getting everything together, I heard her in the drawer where all the markers are. I didn't want her to have them yet because I didn't want her to get the lids off and start drawing on walls or furniture or anything. When I took them away she because upset and started crying. I then told her that when I was fisnished getting everything together, we would sit down and she could color with the markers. She promptly stopped crying and said "Ok mommy" and that was that. We went to Florida recently and everyone commented on how well behaved she is. I'm such a proud mommy :)

She still eats like a bird and is super picky. Breakfast is probably her best/biggest meal of the day and it's still not a lot. She doesn't like meat or veggies. She used to eat beans (which I relied on for protien) but she doesn't eat them anymore. And as far as veggies go, I don't know what I would do without those veggie/fruit pouches. I can get her to eat those most of the time and that makes me feel a little better. Right now she lives off pouches, milk, yogurt, fruit, pasta and cereal.

Some of her favorties right now:

Dancing (the girl loves music)
Reading books
Singing songs
Story time at the library
Mickey Mouse
Bittles our cat
Lucky the stuffed dog (her "la-la" as she calls it)
Playing outside
Animals and making animal noises
Putting on make-up with mommy

I thought I would share some of the pictures that we just had taken. She has grown so much! She looks like a big kid now, and not a baby :(

I thought I would do a little update on daughter #2 as well, I'll be 29 weeks tomorrow. I can't believe I'm in my 3rd trimester. Crazy huh? Gabriella will be here before we know it! The pregnancy has been going pretty good, I passed my 1 hour glucose test so that's great! I failed it with Sophia, and had to do the 3 hour. That was pretty sucky so I was happy when I passed this time around. I am definetely bigger with this baby than I was with Sophia at this point. I didn't really get "big" with Sophia until about 37-38 weeks. I feel like I'm at that point now and I still have 11 weeks to go! Here's my latest pic, taken last week at 28 weeks

For a comparison, this was me with Sophia at 27 weeks...lol big difference

I can't wait to meet our girl! Less than 3 months to go!!

Pumpkin Patch 2011

We took Sophia to a little pumpkin patch at a local church last year and we decided we wanted it to be tradition and take her every year. This year, we decided to do something a little bit different. Instead of just taking her to the church with pumpkins, we wanted to take her to a big pumpkin patch with animals, hayrides, and other things. I ended up finding one about an hour away that seemed to have good reviews called Mainstay Farm. It has TONS of things to do for kids. Sophia will really enjoy it in a year or two, she is still a little too young to do all of the things they have to do and climb on. There are pedal carts, a 3 story treehouse, rope webs, a huge bounce pillow, slides, and much more. They have an area called Goatscape mountain that usually has goats that climb all over this wooden "moutain", but they weren't there this year :(  We were sad about that because Sophia loves animals right now! They also have a marshmallow roasting area, face and pumpkin painting, and hayrides.

We got there a little after they opened, about 11:30, so Sophia was a tad crabby since it was so close to her naptime. Overall, we had fun though. Sophia enjoyed being outside and seeing all the pumpkins. We also got some really great pictures. I can't wait to go back next year! But next year we will have an 7 month with us in addition to our toddler. So crazy to think about!

Baby update

I am 24 weeks tomorrow. Wow I can't believe it. I feel like I just found out I was pregnant. It really is flying by. I am feeling pretty good for the most part. I haven't had morning sickness for awhile now and it's been wonderful. But I traded it in for horrible heartburn. I expected it though because it was so bad with Sophia.

It's definetely getting more uncomfortable to sleep at night since I can't sleep on my back. Poor Rudy, often times when I wake up I glance over and he is hanging off the edge of the bed since I'm sprawled out with my big pregnancy pillow. I feel bad for him but I can't sleep without it, that pillow is my saving grace right now.

I had a doctor's appt today and the baby's heart beat sounded good and the pregnancy is going along just perfectly. The baby is measuring a little ahead because she is so high. I'm carrying her ridiculously high just like I did with Sophia. It makes it hard to eat sometimes because I get full so fast. But I guess that can be a good thing since I only gained 1 lb this month (woo hoo!) I feel like I'm showing a little more than I did with Sophia. Here is this weeks photo.

And just for fun a comparison pic (I was 25 weeks with Sophia)

Teething is the devil

Seriously, it seems like Sophia has been teething non-stop for the last couple of months. One molar is all the way through, now the other 3 are trying to cut. On top of that, she is cutting all 4 canines! She is a drool factory! Maybe we will get a break for a little bit before she decides to get her 2 year molars. But by then I bet her little sister will be starting to get teeth :)

Oh the joys of being a mommy!

I know, I know

Since becoming pregnant, I just can't seem to stay motivated with my blog. I'm tired beyond belief, not sure how much is from pregnancy and how much is from chasing a very busy toddler all day. Probably 90% toddler and 10% pregnancy :) Sophia definetely keeps me on my toes, especially with how hot it has been. We can't do much since we are stuck inside most of the day. Hopefully once it cools down, we can go play at all the parks in town and go for more walks.

She has become a lot more verbal in the last month or so. She still doesn't have a ton of words but her two favorite at the moment are "hot" and "up" along with "mama" and "dada". A few of her other words are "crack-ca" (cracker), "coo-coo" (cookie), "mmmm" (milk) and "nigh-nigh". I'm sure there are others I am forgetting but that's what we get out of her at the moment. She is still doing great with her signs, she is such a smart girl. She also has the memory of an elephant, the girl doesn't forget anything. I have mentioned to her a few times that there is a baby in mommy's tummy and every time I say anything about the baby, she reaches over and rubs my belly :) I love it.

Speaking of the baby, this pregnancy is literally flying by. I will be 20 weeks on Friday! It needs to slow down just a bit, I'm not sure if I'm ready to embrace two under two just yet. We had planned on being "team green" and not finding out the gender but I just couldn't do it. We went and had an elective ultrasound done a couple of weeks ago and found out that Sophia will have a littler sister!! I am so excited. I wanted her to have a sister so badly. I can't wait for them to meet, and hopefully become the best of friends.

As of right now we are planning on the girls sharing a room so we have been brainstorming on how we will rearrange the room to fit both cribs and all the toys and whatnot in one room. We want to keep the 3rd bedroom a guestroom for now. That is if we don't move before the baby comes. We are kind of looking right now but it's one of those if we find something and sell our house great, if not that's fine too. We'll see.

Here's another bump pic, this one is from last friday, 19 weeks

When I went to the OB yesterday, he informed me that I am carrying this baby super high just like I did with Sophia. Great, just waiting on the reflux to kick in any day now! I had it so bad with Sophia since she was so high and I'm definetely not looking forward to that.

Anyway, here are a few pics from the last couple of months since I've been slacking...

15 months old and a pregnancy update

Sophia

We went to Sophia's 15 month appt today. She's a whopping 21 lbs and is 31 inches tall. She's a tall, skinny thing. She is still a super picky eater. She eats like a bird, the majority of her diet consists of milk, fruit, and carbs. Her pedi suggested trying smoothies since she likes milk so much and to sneak some veggies in there :)

I can't believe how "grown up" she is. She is literally running around the house, the child doesn't stop for a minute. She is signing like crazy. As of now she knows the sign for milk, more, please, potty, all done, thank you and eat. She is so smart. She understand and abosorbs everything we say. She is going to be such a big helper when the new baby arrives in February. She still isn't saying a whole lot of words yet. She says mama and dada sometimes and she tries to say other words but just can't annunciate them. Her "half words" are, binky (me me), cookie (coo coo), milk (ma), bad (baa). She also makes animals sounds, her favorite is definetely a puppy. She knows owl, sheep, and elephant. The dr said by 18 months she should be able to identify body parts. Well she is ahead of the game because she already knows and can identify hair, eyes, nose, mouth, teeth, belly button, and toes. Such a smart cookie :)

Me

I am know a little over 13 weeks along. The nausea has finally started fading, I am feeling much better these days! The heartburn has started already, I can't believe it. This baby better have a ton of hair! I still really haven't started showing yet, I thought I would show earlier this time around since it's my 2nd pregnancy but it looks like I won't start showing until later like I did with Sophia. My clothes are starting to get a little snug I have noticed. Hopefully I'll get a baby bump soon :) I have an appt tomorrow and can't wait to hear the heart beat. It seems crazy to me that I am already in my 2nd trimester, I hope this pregnancy slows down! I don't know if I'm ready for 2u2 yet!

I know I haven't posted much yet so here are a few semi recent pics of my girls

Oh and my 12 week "bump"

Feeling very pregnant

I thought I would publish this post now that we have announced...

I am 5 weeks and 5 days along today. It has been almost 3 weeks since I found out that Sophia is going to be a big sister!! We are very very excited :) I found out I was pregnant super early so it's making this pregnancy drag on and on. I didn't start getting morning sickness until a couple of days ago, and then it hit hard. I never threw up when I was pregnant with Sophia but I can't say the same for this pregnancy. I can tell this one is going to be different.

I've seen these pregnancy surveys in other people's blogs before and since I didn't start my blog until after Sophia was born I thought it would be good to start now.

How far along? 5 weeks and 5 days

Is this your 1st pregnancy? Nope, my second!

Was this pregnancy planned? Yes, we were very excited about giving Sophia a sibling.

What is your due date? Estimated due date as of right now is Feburary 4th, but I haven't seen the dr yet so that could still change.

Do you want to know the sex? No, we are waiting to find out at the delivery :)
Total weight gain/loss: I've lost 4 lbs since we started trying to conceive. So -4. I gained 40 lbs with Sophia and would really like to keep it around 20 lbs this pregnancy but we'll see!
Maternity clothes? None yet, but I stay home with Sophia most of the time so I usually wear comfy clothes
Stretch marks? None yet, I still have a few very light, barely visable stretch marks from Sophia. Let's hope I get lucky this time too!
Sleep: I had to break down and buy a pregnancy pillow. I didn't have one last time with Sophia and it was miserable. I sleep much better with it now. I'm extremely tired during the day since it's still early in the first trimester. It's getting harder and harder not taking a nap during the day.
Best moment this week: Everyday has been great b/c I've been so busy with Sophia but I'm really looking forward to my first Dr's appt next week!
Movement: Way too early for now
Food cravings: Seafood and pita chips & dip

Gender: We won't find out for quite a bit longer
Labor Signs: absolutely not thank you very much

Belly Button in or out? Still in, never popped with Sophia
Wedding rings on or off? on for now, but I don't think they will last too much longer. I had to take them off around 16 weeks with Sophia.
What I miss: Coffee, diet coke, and beer
What I am looking forward to: getting a baby bump, feeling the little bean move, and hearing the heartbeat for the first time.
Weekly Wisdom: I have learned my lesson from last time, I barely exercised at all with Sophia. I won't be doing that this time. I'm very proud to say that ever since we started trying to conceive, I've been walking about 2 miles almost everyday. I'm going to try my best to keep it up!
Milestones: None yet, I'm just waiting to hear the hb and for this morning sickness to be over!!

Yay, I am so excited that I get to experience being pregnant again. I can't wait to share the news with everyone :)
